Hybrid Synergy
A Platform for Cultural Kinesis within Your Organization
Hybrid and Work From Home (WFH) for many professionals has been a blessing, but for many is also a double edged sword. While there is greater flexibility and freedom for some, for many it is creating heightened feelings of isolation. In this respect, the pandemic and ubiquitous WFH trend has wreaked havoc on systems, traditions and organizational cultures. The silos created through the breakdown of traditional face-to-face interactions, communication and team environments impact how well organizations run, and are ushering a new pandemic of loneliness among individuals stuck in their contactless working situations.
As teams have transitioned into remote-first and organizational silos become more common, there are sweeping psychological effects for individuals (such as dire loneliness, depression, anxiety, etc), as well as increased challenges around communication and connection within teams. Often these contributors are more susceptible to distance and proximity-bias, fear-of-missing-out on promotion opportunities, exclusion from off-sites, team-building and group cohesion. These obstacles impact motivation, individual and team productivity, and ultimately have a synergistically negative effect on the bottom line for the larger organization (ie: breakdown in customer experience, task duplication, “us vs them” mentalities on projects, no focus on the larger organizational priorities/goals).
In this training participants will learn:

Total Inclusion
We're All In!
The grounding principle for Total Inclusion is learning to recognize how majority and non-majority professionals experience inclusion and exclusion in the workplace.
Everyone is ultimately positioned to create inclusion, from the board to leadership and management to employees. It requires care, attention, and maintenance to create an organizational culture where everyone, particularly the employees who are most vulnerable to feeling or being excluded, feel that they belong. In this training, participants will learn tools that will allow them to accomplish this sometimes daunting task.

Exclusionary behaviors are harmful. Discrimination, harrassment, microaggressions, endemic sarcasm, and any behavior that lead to one or more employees to feel unsafe are not only the responsibility of the direct perpetrator, but also those who witness these behaviors and do nothing. Targets of such behaviors are often women and non-majority professionals (NMPs), which may include team members that stand out in various ways, such as their sexual orientation, disabilities, political or religious affiliation. Organizations that neglect to eliminate these issues have higher levels of employee dissatisfaction, compromised authenticity, creativity and output, lower productivity, and ultimately lead to reduced retention and the loss of talent. There may also be negative PR and legal battles that are incurred.
Total Inclusion aims to create a safe space for employees, teams, managers and leadership to learn the tools needed to confront exclusionary behaviors and become stronger advocates in the workplace.

“Amygdalamania”
There’s a lot of popular science around the function of the amygdala and how to recognize what Daniel Goleman called the “Amygdala hijack” in his groundbreaking book, “Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More Than IQ”. Despite the cultural awareness around this function, the “hijack” still seems to find its way into conference rooms, board rooms, into phone calls and VCs, 1:1s, and even next to the coffee machine.
When people feel threatened on any level, their responses may not only interfere with their preferred and normal mode of conduct, but can have a lasting impact on their relationships within their teams, organizations, external partners, and personal lives. Add to that the influence of groupthink, mob mentality, herd politics, organizational and team culture, and other psychological and sociological factors, and conflict levels can rise to the point of impasse.“Amygdalamania” explores personal reactivity mechanisms and how subsequent behaviors inform decision making and its larger effect on teams and the workplace.
In this session participants will:
- Learn to recognize when they and others are “eFFFF’ed Off” (Fight, Flight, Freeze and “Fade”)

- Practice authentic personal dialogue around complex real-life situations
